Unraveled Wednesday, 4/12/23.

Joining Kat and her merry band of Unravelers. Go see what the others are up to.

Knitting.

Yes, this is the same photo as last week. I finished the scarf but haven’t taken a glamour shot yet. Next week…

Reading.

as

Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gebrielle Zevin. Video game creators, their childhoods, their adolescence, and their adulthood. And their romances. 3.5✭

The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb. A black violinist makes it to the Tchaikovsky Competition—the Olympics of classical music — but his 18th century Stradivarius does not go with him. It was stolen. Written by a Black violinist, the author uses racist incidents from his own past in the story. 4✭

as

Chef’s Kiss by TJ Alexander. The story of a perfectionist pastry chef who, against her own will, falls for the kitchen manager at work. Chef is bi and kitchen manager is trans; if you don’t want to think about their lovemaking, do not read this book. It is, however, well-written and the author clearly knows her way around a kitchen. 3.5✭

Listening.

as

Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica. I am finally able to listen to this audiobook again. Progressing on this one. It is a decent sort of suspense story, but still too soon to rate.

Watching.

Sadly, I am not caught up in anything videowise. An occasional episode of Call the Midwife on Netflix is the extent of my watching.

  1. Kat says:

I am eager to see you finished shawl… the colors are so lovely!

(and I am feeling much the same as you about Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow… I am liking it much less than all the hype about it)

  2. Kym says:

Can’t wait to see the shawl! 🙂

  3. gayle says:

I too am looking forward to seeing that shawl!
I read Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow (actually, I listened to the audiobook so my intake would be a little different) and while I don’t regard it as a waste of time, I notice I haven’t gone out of my way to recommend it to anyone. Though there were parts that had me quite teared up…

  4. Sounds like an interesting variety of books! I wouldn’t have guessed from the cover that Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow was about video game designers.

  5. Jane Wolfe says:

I look forward to seeing the shawl. Tomorrow and tomorrow and . . . doesn’t appeal to me but I have The Violin Conspiracy on my list.
