“But the lesson is that we’re all immigrants, whether you’ve been in a place for 10 minutes or 9,000 years. We’ve all come from somewhere.”

I don’t even know what to call this.

How to move a snapping turtle off the road. Hat tip to Chris for this useful information.

I loved the turtle info – especially the illustrations!

I’d seen the Instagram clip; mesmerizing.

  3. When I was a teenager, we had one crossing our yard (probably headed for a farm pond several yards over…but hey we didn’t want it in our ‘fishing’ pond). We picked it up with a shovel and placed it in a bath tub we had in the yard (don’t ask…it eventually was removed). We loaded it into the trunk of our car and took it to a near by stream (that did not feed into our local pond) and released it. If it came back (at least 6 miles away) we never saw it again. Pretty sure it liked its new locale. 🙂

  4. Very cool article about the Cheddar Man. Good message from his descendant, too.

There is no way I am moving a snapping turtle anywhere. I will go around. Even if it’s a very long way around.
