Actually, Barry, we were not on the eve back in 1965. Today, maybe we are, but not then.

Whenever someone says the answer to Bad Guy With Gun is Good Guy[s] With Guns, I remember this photo, taken seconds before Reagan was shot by John Hinckley, Jr, the guy at the right in a light blue suit. There are four, count ’em, FOUR Secret Service agents, highly trained and armed men right there. They may be Good Guys With Guns, but they didn’t protect RR from Hinckley.
