Furry Friday.

Sheep loving their future herding dog.

A comment on last week’s Furry Friday, in particular, the propensity of cats to sit in anything box-shaped:

“Cat/box: Cats sit in boxes because cats are made primarily of an electrostatically-charged ectoplasm, and they get tired of holding their ectoplasmic-s*** together. While it would seem on the surface that an imaginary box would not serve the same purpose, it still represents/recreates the force of will* required to hold said s*** together.

“The electrostatic force is constantly fluctuating, causing large amounts of “fur” to fall off at the slightest provocation.** The sharp pointy bits we call “teeth” are the cathodes extending from The Further Realm, which is their natural home. Research into why, exactly, The Further Realm has sent these emissaries is just beginning.***

“All a mystery.”

* The Will To Being, as Vonnegut characterized it. I think.

** They roam around at night to re-collect enough of the “fur” to pass as mammals. Also, running through the house like a “bat out of hell” is just an effort to recharge [and where do you think bats learned it?]

*** See: “attempts to have my cat use buttons to speak like that dog Bunny,” and the statistical preponderance of pushing the “food” button
