47 years.

Smokey’s post on FB last week:

Our 47th wedding anniversary was October 19. I haven't posted about it until now because we were holed up for 5 days in a 90 year-old rustic cabin on Lake Superior with our 3 dogs and no internet. We didn't use the car at all. We just hung out with each other going for walks, reading, doing a jigsaw puzzle, and playing with the puppies. That we could have a good time just being together might have something to do with why we have been happily married for 47 years.

He forgot to say “taking naps”… That was something we both did at least once a day.

Feeling contentment simply from being together, talking, walking, eating, working on a puzzle together, discussing books or issues, that is a great sign of a marriage with strong glue. Congratulations! and many thanks for coming up to Winnipeg for our wedding. That meant a lot to us and still does!
