Note on the select committee’s hearing(s):
I watched much of the live testimony on Tuesday in the select committee on Tuesday to investigate the January 6 insurrection. The testimony of the four law enforcement officers was graphic and absolutely heartbreaking. Here it is from the New York Times; I suspect you can find some or all of it on YouTube. The video at the link has sadly been edited down now to the most dramatic parts. When I was watching it, it was the complete hearing; but I accidentally closed the tab, and when I reopened it, the edited version appeared. But the edited version is still graphic and heartbreaking. I cannot imagine the trauma those officers suffered and how afterward they felt betrayed by some of the congressman and senators. These testimonies affected me deeply.

The January 6th thing just hurts. And it shows a big issue we have with our nation-wide police force: we don’t punish the ones who do bad things, but neither do we help the ones who do good things. (In general, of course. I am glad that there are exceptions to that, but I wish the ratio was the other way around. I wish we got it right more of the time.)
I do like the rant pics this week, though. Especially the recipe one. 🙂
Your rants help me rant. I am appalled by January 6. I never thought I would see anything like it in the USA. I am trying so hard not to scream at friends and family who voted for Trump.
My husband’s hobby is a food blog and he loved the eat cereal meme. Since we are retired and the food blog provides a nice income, we get take out instead of eating cereal.
