I have not done a ToT post in a l-o-n-g time, but right now I need to tell y’all some things, and a ToT format seemed appropriate.

Thing the one. Smokey and I have both had our first covid shot. He gets his second on Sunday, and I get mine nine days later. Yay!

Thing the two. Younger Son quit his job. He hasn’t quite finalized the details of his new job, but it will be the American representative of a German software/hardware company. All the German employees have learned English in anticipation of having an American rep.

Thing the three. This is the big one: Elder Son and GF are getting married on Sunday! Because the rules in New Mexico prohibit gatherings of more than five people, we will not be able to attend. The five are ES, GF, the officiant, and the two witnesses. The ceremony will take place on top of a mountain (mesa? I don’t remember which), which will make it especially memorable. They plan to have a larger celebration this summer, which we will attend. The ceremony has been postponed a couple times, first waiting for the officiant to get her officialdom finalized, them as ES and GF were waiting for their rings to be finished.
These are 3 wonderful things!!! Dale has had his first shot and I’m getting mine on Monday.
This is all amazing and EXCELLENT news! Congratulations!!
Finally movement after a year f stagnation! I see more freedom on the horizon. Congratulations to you two and to ES and his GF on their upcoming commitment. Yes, Mesa’s have significance in the indigenous culture of those who surround there he lives and works. Does this mean that YS is going to be travelling abroad and living in Germany? Destination holiday ahead! (assuming Germany opens its borders to US citizens but these restrictions will have to change someday) The second shot of covid is your lifeline. Sometimes I think that a year of staying inside has become my new habit, and that I may not have the umpf to want to go places to see people. Home feels safe and the outside world, no so much, especially recently. Some foolish college students thought it would be “no big deal” to hold a massive party on Feb. 20th in our city. The result was 35 of those student infected with the more vicious and contagious B. 1.1.7 variant of Covid-19. They invited students from the university and 15 of them tested positive. on top of the outbreaks in a long tern care home and . So college classes were shut down for 2 weeks starting March 1. It caused our entire city to be placed into a red zone with more restrictions after just getting out of a stay-at-home and lockdown status of 7 weeks. Businesses have more restrictions now. So it has turned into A BIG DEAL. Police investigated and now the college will hold it s owners well. Considerations of expulsion, suspensions and fines are being considered. In the meantime, Phil and I are back in stay-at-home mode. Our province has not yet rolled out vaccinations for our age groups. Because the astra zeneca was not tested on those over 65 in large enough numbers, right now younger people are getting vaccinated but we cannot for more than 2 month for me. I am champing at the bit for my turn, and it is gratifying to know that you and Smokey got yours. Stay safe and thank you for the good news!
All happy news! Congrats to all!
Three big, wonderful things! Congratulations on shots, the new job, and the wedding. Sending good wishes to all!
