The cast of The Princess Bride is reuniting to support the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. First, Smokey sent me the link; then a knitting&blog friend in Minneapolis sent it to me. I forwarded the link to Elder Son. He said he donated some money an submitted a comment to the Q&A:
Not a question, but thanks not only for making this perfect movie, but also for then having the artistic integrity to just leave it the heck alone, with no sequel, no prequel, no made-for-TV remake, no gritty reboot, no CGI cartoon adaptation, and no Princess Bride Meets the Pirates of the Caribbean Broadway Extravaganza on Ice. Anybody who was part of a movie this beloved has to run into plenty of people with bad ideas to make a quick buck off of it, so thanks to all of you for just saying no.
You can chip in here if you want.
I dreamed last night that Kay Gardiner, the Mason half of the due formerly known as Mason-Dixon Knitting, was elected president. She and knitters everywhere were giddy with excitement.
