Joining Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday.
Knitting.

BSJ #1 now has its buttons.

BSJ #2 is done…

… but waiting for a silver-gray button in the shape of an elephant. I think I am addicted to the i-cord bindoff.
The yarn left over after this cowl was sitting out, and I decided to use it up. It was no fun knitting it because is had absolutely no elasticity, so I decided to try crochet. Score! I used up all but about about a yard of the yarn. No pattern, just did filet crochet. I gave it a single twist when I sewed the ends together so it will lie flat in front.

Next up, another child sweater.
Now that my BSJ addiction has been satiated, I have cast on another child sweater. Pattern is In Threes. This yarn has been marinating in the stash for way too long. It’s not enough for an adult garment and is too coarse for a scarf or shawl. Although the label says to hand wash, I threw a 6”x6” swatch into the wash and it came out just fine, making it suitable for a child garment. (All children’s garment MUST be machine washable. It’s a rule.)
Reading.
Wild Game by Adrienne Brodeur. This is the book for Carole, Kym, and Bonnie’s book discussion on August 11. It was a very good read. I am looking forward to the discussion. 4★

Misogynation: The True Scale of Sexism by Laura Bates My reading has been slack in the last week. Scouring my bookshelf led to this book I bought sometime in the past year or two. I read the first few essays and decided that was enough.
There are five books in transit to my library for me, so I am hesitant to start something else.

Watching.
Episode 10, season 2 Monday night. But I had a nightmare that night featuring a gruesome murder, which led me to the conclusion that I need to take a hiatus from the show.

On Sunday I watched 13th on Netflix, based on Ann & Kay’s recommendation. It was through-provoking and excellent. Highly recommend. 5★
If Canada’s Netflix is the same as yours, I will look for this movie, 13th.
Love those BSJs and the i-cord bind-off! After seeing yours I’ll be compelled to do the i-cord bind-off myself if I ever knit one.
Love your BSJs! And using crochet for a non-stretchy yarn was a great solution. (I’m bi-craftual, too. I’ve been crocheting afghans through times of stress) (What am I gonna do with all these afghans?)
I’ve got 13th on my watchlist – thanks for the recommend!
Thanks for the reminder that yarn which isn’t great for knitting might be perfect for crochet. I tend to forget that.
I have plans to watch 13th this week! I love those BSJ! (and yes to the i-cord bindoff!)
