The cloak video is fascinating and fabulous!
It’s a fabulous cloak, but it isn’t knitted! It is however a great idea if you have a huge amount of very thick yarn that you don’t know what to do with.
Good travel tips. I would add that you should always pack back-up yarn, though. I recently bought yarn while on vacation — not because I liked it (I do) and had to have it (I didn’t) but because I thought I was going to run out of yarn on my trip. And it was a close thing. If I hadn’t gotten slightly ill toward the end of the trip, I would have finished all of my projects and needed that back-up yarn.
