Three things I do when Smokey is gone (which doesn’t happen very often).
- Netflix and knit. I watch things that I don’t think he would enjoy. Midsomer Murders if I want something light, You if I want something dark. Others on my TBWatched list: Jessica Jones, Bojack Horseman, Call the Midwife, West Wing, and many others.
- Eat Indian food. I discovered these microwavable meals back when I was working during tax season. It was the ingredients list that sold me; there was nothing that I could not pronounce. No preservatives, no weird chemicals! After I quit working I no longer had easy access to Cub Foods where I had discovered them initially, so I resorted to Amazon. I cook some brown rice and mix it half and half with the lentils or whichever Tasty Bite package I opened. Presto! Two easy and healthy meals!
- Get up and get dressed as soon as I wake up. Because he is a night owl, he sleeps much later than I do, and I hate to risk waking him by scuffling around the bedroom finding clothes and shoes (and hand-knit socks to match my outfit!).
Dale sleeps late on the weekends so I know what you mean. If I think ahead I put out stuff to wear the night before so I can get dressed.
When Tom is gone, I spread all my projects out on the kitchen island, and don’t pick anything up until he’s due home. And I eat a lot of take-out sushi. . . 🙂
Glad I’m not the only one that wants my hand-knit socks to match my outfit!
Never have that pleasure!!
I’ve watched quite a few Midsomer Murders episodes – it would crack me up that you’d see this sweet little small village with charming inhabitants and then suddenly there was an underbelly you weren’t expecting!
(And your TBW list looks a lot like mine. Right now I’m rewatching/bingeing Farscape)
I also pick my watch list based on whether or not Mr. Wyrm is at home! And agreed, these days it’s not often that he’s gone (late nights at the office don’t count). I guess that means he’ll have to put up with me watching rom-coms while he’s home sometimes.
It’s Indian food for me, too, when John is gone. He doesn’t like the smell or taste, so I look forward to some nice tikka masala!
We get our Tasty Bites from Costco. 😀
Oh sometimes it is fun to have the day to yourself! ENJOY. I usually get really lazy about dishes and laundry if I ‘ve got the day alone!
Phil and I really enjoyed the film Leave No Trace about a homeless man and his teen daughter. I also highly recommend Murdoch Mysteries to you.
