Meditation.

Someone, wish I could remember who, said that life was just one damned thing after another. Another said that life is made up of all the moments in all the days. My mother told me never to expect any big deal out of life. My personal mantra is to enjoy the good moments as much as possible and to endure the bad ones with as much grace as possible. Also, it’s all good; every day spent above ground is a good one.

Also, I realize that not everyone — very few people, in fact — have been lucky enough to have a life as pleasant as mine. To them, I apologize for my blitheness.

Ahhh, but if everyone is focused on enjoying the good and enduring everything else with grace – this would be a much better world.

Love your mantra and think on some level your mother and mine were related. I think besides enjoying each other’s company we have a connection on a whole deeper level.

    Blithety?
Mod Squad, Linc Hayes; “My mother told me to never refuse to drink champagne from a paper cup.” Or something like that.
I’m glad when people have decent normal lives. Gives me faith in the universe. There’s more “you and Smokey and the boys” than there are shitshows like Jared and Ivanka.

I think that more people have had pleasant lives than most of us realize. Even a lot of the people leading pleasant lives are often unaware of it. I don’t mean to belittle those who are going through bad times or who don’t have pleasant lives; I’ve been at a rough patch myself these past couple of months so I do sympathize. But I think we (yes, myself included) don’t look at the big picture enough. Great reminder.
