Three things about winter right now, in visual format.

The stalactites have met the stalagmite, aka the pile of snow on this deck. (These are dripping from a south-facing roof, so the melting is from heat loss.) Several years ago a huge pile of snow and ice slid off that roof onto the deck and took it right off the house… and onto one of the cars. Which makes me think I really should get out there with a hatchet and knock down those icicles before they pull the roof down.
Milady LOVES the snow. She stays outside longer than either of the other two dogs. Don’t know if you can tell, but it is snowing… very heavily.

The snowfall finally tapered down to a gentle snowdrizzle. The dogs still liked it.
Bonus!

My second amaryllis finally decided to send up some buds and… a flower!
Oh my! That amaryllis is stunning! (as are those icicles!!)
Impressed by your icicles!!! And your very lovely amaryllis. (Snow dogs are such fun!)
A nice synopsis of our winter. So glad for a break.
Wonderful photos! I’ll admit, while I’m a wuss about cold and don’t know if I’d survive one of your winters, I am jealous of the lovely photos you get of the snow.
oh the bonus is so my favorite color! i love roses in that color too! Thanks
Those are some impressive icicles! Also view-obstructing!
oh my goodness. Those icicles are huge. The amaryllis is beautiful.
