*Do you remember a bad sunburn? Yes, but only very vaguely. Probably happened in the Florida Keys back in the late 1970s or early ’80s.
*What is the last game you played? (card game or board game) I seem to remember that the fam played something — Hearts? Monopoly? both? — on a recent-ish Christmas when the
boys young men were home. And Smokey and I played Scrabble on a camping trip with the travel set he gave me. Don’t remember which was more recent. Not much card- or board-game-playing here. But if you asked about computer games… we play Boggle every day.
*Do you have a statue in your house of any kind? Sort of. There is wooden carving of an African woman on our mantle; also one of a cat.
*Have you seen the new needle that threads your safety line for lace? Nope.
Edited to add: someone else answered “Yes, my Knit Picks interchangeable needles have the lifeline thread hole” and the lightbulb went off in my head. This made me think of the tiny hole in the needle tip where the user inserts the wire key to tighten the needle tip on the cable. I suspect one could thread dental floss through that to be a lifeline.
*Why do they call them point protectors when they are really protecting the stitches from falling off? Same reason as we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway.
*What kind of knitting or crocheting has dominated your summer? Garter stitch scrap afghan. Also Herbivore, which is stockinette and 1x1twisted ribbing.
*Have you seen an ice cream truck this summer? Nope. We live in the sticks; pretty sure there is not an ice cream truck in the entire county. We used to see them occasionally when we lived in Minneapolis.
*Cold summer salad preference: Pasta salad or bean salad or fruit salad? Probably fruit salad, although a nicely seasoned pasta salad can be quite nice. Bean salad, yuk.
*Your favorite summer sandals are made by _____. I don’t wear sandals because I need orthotics, which do not work well in sandals. That being said, I do have a couple pairs of Tevas that kinda sorta work.
*Do you have a favorite old photograph taken in the summer ? Yes; one of my boys when they were about 6 and 10, standing on the dock with a fishing rod and proudly displaying the 4″ fish one had just caught. That photo went out with our Christmas card that year.
