Ten on Tuesday, the MN version.

Ten Songs About Where I Live[d].

There are far more songs about Minnesota than Wisconsin, so I choose to highlight those.

In fact, I didn’t even need to write my own post. It is all covered here. (And if you thought that was fun, here are the ten worst songs about MN.)

FWIW, I lived on 4th St for a couple years in college. And my best friend in college was from Hibbing, Bob Dylan’s home town, and we bought that album together.

Google gave me a few songs that mention Wisconsin. I seriously doubt that there are ANY songs that most folks have heard of — beyond On, Wisconsin! — that are about this fair state.

(Oops, I guess there is one.)
That was Wisconsin that was yesterday
Now I have nothing that I can keep
Cause every place I go I take another place with me
Love is loves critique

The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconsin

Finally here is one EVERYBODY can use:

I’ve been to:
Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota,
Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota,
Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma,
Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma,
Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo,
Tocapillo, Baranquilla, and Perdilla, I’m a killer…

Louisville, Nashville, Knoxville, Ombabika,
Schefferville, Jacksonville, Waterville, Costa Rica,
Pittsfield, Springfield, Bakersfield, Shreveport,
Hackensack, Cadillac, Fond du Lac, Davenport,
Idaho, Jellico, Argentina, Diamantina,
Pasadena, Catalina, see what I mean-a.

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is such a classic, glad you included it!

Loved that round up of Minnesota songs you linked to! The Tom Waits one has always been a favorite.
