Thankful Thursday(s) #2.

The Internet. I use it constantly.

  • Email. If I don’t have someone’s email address, I tend to lose touch with them.
  • Blog reading. I use Feedly, which is apparently part of Google ( what isn’t part of Google?). My feeds are divided into:
      • AAA Read These First (
      • Food
      • Knit Not
      • Knitting.,,,
      • Must Read. All my favorite blogs that don’t fit into the other categories.
      • Optional Reads. The rest of my favorite blogs that I don’t necessarily get to every day.
      • Techie Tech.,, A Note From Pogue.
      • Things to Think About., Stonekettle Station,
      • Visuals.,,,,
  • Blogging. Like, now.
  • News. I get daily headlines from the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, also the weekly NYT tech update and book reviews. I had an online subscription to the New York Times at one time but eventually found I was not reading it much any more.
  • Reference. Google and Wikipedia can tell me just about anything this trivia nerd wants to know about.
  • Spelling. Type the word into the search box and, even if I spelled it wrong, Google can usually figure out what I meant.
  • Ravelry. ‘Nuf said.
  • Requesting a book from my library system.
  • Facebook. I am not a big Facebooker, but it comes in mighty handy at times — looking up an old friend, checking out a job applicant, putting up a sort-kinda website for an organization I am involved with. Also, it seems that whenever I click into FB I end up spending more time than I planned. Go figger.
