Coming next year to a television near you.

From today's Wall Street Journal (I don't know if the link will work if you are not a subscriber):

Next year HBO will launch "Game of Thrones," a series based on George R.
R. Martin's novels about power struggles in a fictional land inspired
by medieval Europe.

From the HBO website:

Yee haw! That series is one of my favorite bunch of books EVAH! We don't have cable or satellite, let alone HBO, so I won't be able to watch the series until it comes out in DVD and I can get it from the library ::le sigh::

These are on my list to read. If I ever get thru the Neal Stephenson books,

  2. What sound do lemmings make? And did you hear it from there?
I just clicked over to Amazon and bought the first book in the series for my Kindle. Thanks for the recommendation!

LOL! I think I need to re-listen to those myself.
Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.

Cool! I’ve read other George R.R. Martin books and loved them – haven’t seen this series.
Eventually I’m going to get to the library. After I finally get a car. (Still haven’t replaced the one that blew up at Christmas…)

  5. Funny…I was hearing about that series a while back and thought it might make for good reading. Might have to add that to the summer reading list now. That list is getting long. Maybe long enough that I’ll have to retire so I can read full time…

Oh — this is on my “recommended list” — and now you’ve just moved it up significantly in my reading queue. I have HBO. Come watch at my house. Bring wine.
